Water transport to be suspended from 6am tomorrow

All types of water transport will be prohibited from operating on inland waterways for the next 14 days due to the strict lockdown enforced to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the country,

Water transport services such as launches, speedboats, trawlers, and others will be suspended from 6:00am tomorrow to 12:00am on August 5, according to a government gazette notification issued on July 13.

The owners, masters, drivers, staff, passengers, and everyone else involved are asked to follow the said instructions. Those who disregard the instruction will face consequences, according to the notification.
