Overhead cables should be removed by June 30: DNCC Mayor

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md Atiqul Islam today said all the hanging wires from different parts of north city corporation areas will have to be removed by next June 30.

The DNCC mayor gave the warning at a meeting, "Removing overhead cables and road repairing works" at Nagar Bhaban in Gulshan.

The mayor also said overhead cables will have to be transferred underground.

Atiqul said that they will take necessary actions after the deadline.

He said as service providers did not comply with the rules concerned during their ongoing works, they will not allow any digging works from tomorrow until further notice.

He said the uneven roads which have been created due to the digging by those organisations will have to be repaired by themselves taking initiative.

He said the organisatons who are involved in digging will have to do their work in a coordinated manner.
