Movement of those above 18-years-old without being vaccinated will be considered a punishable offence from August 11, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said today.

"Everyone needs to be vaccinated. It will be considered a punishable offence if anyone above 18 years old moves around without getting vaccinated from August 11. If you want to move, you will have to be vaccinated," the minister said this while speaking at an inter-ministerial meeting today.

He said vaccines are being administered at 14,000 centers across the country.

"We will strictly implement the vaccination activities after August 11. If people do not obey the law, the government will hand out punishment.  An ordinance will even be formulated to compel people if necessary," he said.

Expressing hope, the minister said "It will be possible to control mortality rate when everyone will be vaccinated."
