Day 7 of lockdown: 568 arrested in Dhaka for defying restrictions

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested 568 people for defying restrictions and health guidelines in the city today, the seventh day of the two-week "strict lockdown" imposed to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Mobile courts fined 206 people and shops a total of Tk 3.4 lakh while DMP's traffic division fined 431 vehicles Tk 9.97 lakh.

DMP has so far arrested 3,624 people for similar offence since this phase of lockdown began on July 23.
