UP election in Munshiganj: Sreenagar OC withdrawn

Hedayatul Islam Bhuiyan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Munshiganj's Sreenagar Police Station, has been withdrawn following instructions from the Election Commission -- two weeks before the union parishad polls.

He has been attached to the district police lines, Sumon Dev, additional superintendent of police in Munshiganj, told our local correspondent.

Inspector (Investigation) Md Kamruzzaman has been given additional responsibility until the new OC takes charge, he added.

District Election Officer Mohammad Bashir Ahmed said police took the move after EC directed to withdraw the OC.

Voting in 14 union parishads under Sreenagar upazila is scheduled on November 13.
