Talks between Hasina, Macron underway

The bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and French President Emmanuel Macron is underway.

The meeting began around 10:45am at the Prime Minister's Office.

Hasina received Macron on his arrival at the Tiger gate of the Prime Minister's Office at 10:20am.

The two leaders joined the "delegation-level" talks at PMO's Chameli Hall. It will be followed by "restricted-level" talks between the two leaders at Shimul Hall there, reports UNB.

Earlier, Macron paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman today.

He also visited the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi 32 around 9:30am.

Macron, who arrived in Dhaka from the G20 summit in New Delhi last evening, and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina may witness several deals signed after the meeting.

Those include a deal on buying a second satellite, and aircraft from Airbus.

Macron is scheduled to leave Dhaka in the afternoon.
