Bangladesh Embassy gives reception to diplomats in Egypt marking Independence Day

On the occasion of the Independence Day and National Day of Bangladesh, the Embassy of Bangladesh hosted a reception and dinner in honour of foreign diplomats in Egypt.

Egypt's Minister of State for Tourism Dr Ghada Shalaby was present as chief guest and Assistant Foreign Minister Ayman Kamel was the special guest at the ceremony held at the ballroom of Hotel Ramses Hilton in the capital Cairo on Monday evening.

Ministers of various Egyptian ministries, high-ranking officials, business and political figures and ambassadors of various embassies, diplomats and Bangladeshi community leaders participated in the reception.

Dr Ghada Shalaby and Ayman Kamel of Egypt, in their speeches, conveyed their greetings on the Independence Day of Bangladesh on behalf of the Government of Egypt and hoped to elevate the existing good relations between the two fraternal countries to a new level.

Bangladesh Ambassador Mohammad Monirul Islam, in his welcome address, highlighted the historical and current good relations between Bangladesh and Egypt and said that after independence, Egypt was the first muslim country in the Middle East to recognise Bangladesh.
