Gazette published over name of Padma Bridge

The name of the under-construction bridge over the Padma River would be named "Padma Bridge".

The Bridge Division today (May 29, 2022) under the Ministry of Road, Transport and Bridges published a gazette notification in this regard.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina rejected a proposal to name the bridge after her. She had directed the authorities concerned to name the bridge after the mighty river.

The long cherished Padma Bridge will be opened to public on June 25.
