Women, children among 7 Bangladeshis detained at Phulbari border for illegally entering from India

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members detained seven Bangladeshis, including women and children, at Kurigram's Phulbari border, while entering Bangladesh illegally from India.

The detainees are Shahid Ali (31), his wife Afroza Khatun (28), their son Arman Ali (8), Raju Mandal (36), his wife Parveen Bibi (21), their son Parvez Mandal (6), and Moksed Ali (42).

After working at a brick kiln in Delhi, India, they were returning home through the Phulbari border, reports our correspondent quoting BGB.

BGB 15 Battalion Kashipur Camp Company Commander, Subedar Ramzan Ali said the trespassers were caught near international main pillar number 942 by BGB last night while trying to enter Bangladesh illegally.

The detainees were handed over to Phulbari Police Station today morning, and a case was filed against them under the Illegal Entry and Passport Act, Subedar Ramzan said.
