Three injured in Benapole bomb blast

Three people were critically injured in a bomb blast at Putkhali village in Benapole last night.

The injured are Sohel Rana (35), Rashedul Islam (40) and Ashikur Rahman (42), reports our local correspondent.

According to one of the injured, a man threw a bomb near them around 10:30pm and fled the scene. The bomb detonated in a matter of seconds. They were rescued and taken to Jashore General Hospital by locals.

The hospital's emergency department's doctor, Salauddin Shopon, said that Rashed's right hand was blown off in the blast. Sohel and Ashik's condition is critical too.

Benapole Land Port Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Mamun Khan, said that the incident is being investigated by the police.

"We are trying to identify the person who threw the bomb," said the OC, adding that no case has been filed in this regard yet.
