Detectives today said they are still no clues regarding the murder of shopkeeper Md Morsalin – during the clashes between Dhaka College students and traders in New Market area on April 19.

"There's still no clue. We primarily suspect that he might have been hit with brickbats and later on, succumbed to injuries. We are yet to confirm the location from where the brick chunks were thrown," Joint Commissioner of Detective Branch of police, Mahbub Alam, told a press briefing at DB Media Centre.

The joint commissioner said those who threw brickbats that day or led a mob during the clashes cannot avoid their responsibilities. "We are trying to identify and interrogate them," said the DB official.

Morsalin (27), who suffered head injuries in the clashes, died on early April 21.

Morsalin used to work at a cloth shop in Dhaka New Supermarket.

After his death, Morsalin's brother Nur Mohammad filed a murder case with New Market Police Station, accusing 100-150 unnamed people.
