Policeman stabbed by miscreants for protesting stalking of wife

Stalkers stabbed a policeman for protesting the stalking of his wife at Bakchhatar in Bhola municipality tonight (September 23, 2022).

Meanwhile, following the incident, police after conducting raid in the area arrested one of the stalkers named Rakib, reports our Barishal correspondent quoting Md Shaheen Fakir, officer-in-charge of Bhola Model Police Station.

The injured policeman, Md Enamul Haque, who was stationed at Bhola district police lines, was admitted to Bhola Sadar Hospital.

OC Shaheen said Enamul in plain clothes went to Bakchhatar of the municipality with his wife.

"Some stalkers there hurled abusive words to his wife. As Enamul protested, the stalkers stabbed him multiple times and fled the scene", said the OC.

Locals rescued him and took him to Bhola Sadar Hospital, he added.

Till filing this report, the health condition of the policeman could not be known.

The OC said efforts are on to nab the other stalkers.
