One killed in ‘gunfight’ with Rab in Ukhia

A man suspected to be a drug dealer was killed in a "gunfight" with Rapid Action Battalion at Ukhia upazila in Cox's Bazar today.

The man was identified as Jahangir Alam, our Cox's Bazar correspondent reports quoting Captain Azim Ahmed, wing commander of Rab-15.

The incident took place behind Jaliapalong Forest Beat Office at around 8:30pm.

The Rab official said a group of drug dealers started firing at Rab personnel when they were on a drug recovery operation there.

Rab fired back in retaliation and later they found the body of Jahangir on the ground, the official said.

Rab said they seized a gun, three rounds of bullet and 10,000 Yaba pills from his possession.
