Mother, daughter found dead in Natore

A woman and her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter were found dead at their house in Sadar upazila of Natore this morning.

The deceased was identified as Masura Begum (25) and her daughter Mahfuza Khatun of Uttar Choukirpar area, said Md Mansur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.

Being informed by locals, a police team recovered the bodies from their home around 11am and sent those to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, said the police officer.

Police also detained Masura's husband Abdus Sattar (35) for his suspected involvement in the deaths, the OC told our Natore correspondent.

Tarek Jubayer, additional superintendent of Natore police, said during interrogation, Sattar primarily confessed that he had a quarrel with his wife last night.

He said police primarily suspect that Sattar might have strangled Masura and their daughter to death over domestic dispute.

"But we are still not sure who were involved in the murder," added the police official.
