Man shot dead by brother-in-law in Dhaka’s Darussalam

A man was shot dead allegedly by his brother-in-law in Dhaka's Darussalam area this morning.

Faruk Hossain (48) was critically injured when his wife's brother Jassikur Rahman Asru shot him around 11:30am, said Nazir Hossain, a sub-inspector of Darussalam Police Station.

Other family members later took him to Shaheed Suhrawardi Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Police detained Asru along with the firearms found to be licensed, the SI said, adding that they are investigating into the incident.
