Man injured while making bomb in Kushtia dies

A man, who was injured in an explosion while making a bomb at his house in Kushtia on August 19, died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) last night. 

Abu Bakar Siddiqui died while undergoing treatment at the hospital, Inspector (investigation) of Daulatpur Police Station Shafiqul Alam, told our Kushtia correspondent.

Nasir Uddin, officer-in-charge of the police station, said Abu Bakar was making a bomb at his house in Kushtia's Daulatpur upazila on August 19 when the explosion occurred.

Injured Abu Bakar was taken to Kushtia General Hospital from where he was shifted to RMCH. 

His wife Madhubala was also injured in the blast but she went into hiding after the incident, the OC said. 

The OC said Abu Bakar was involved with a smuggling gang in border areas. He used to supply bombs to the gang, the police official said.

Three people were arrested in connection with the incident.
