Listed Tangail criminal Roni arrested in Dhaka  

Police have arrested Atikur Rahman Roni alias "Quarter Roni", a listed criminal of Tangail, from Dhaka's Mohammadpur area.

"Roni (30) is a criminal on police list and was accused in nine cases, including murder and arms, filed with police stations of Tangail," said Sanjit Kumar Roy, superintendent of Tangail police today.

Roni is a resident of Deola area in Tangail town, reports our local correspondent.

An arrest warrant has been issued by a court against him in one of the cases, said the SP at a press briefing at his office today.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Tangail Sadar Police Station arrested Roni from Mohammadpur area of Dhaka yesterday, said the police official.

The SP also said Roni was produced before a Tangail court today in a mugging case with five-day remand prayer after he was shown arrested in the case.

Drive to arrest all listed fugitive criminals in the district will be continued, he added.
