Jubo Dal leader shot dead in Sirajganj

A local Jubo Dal leader was shot dead at Randhunibari market area of Belkuchi upazila of Sirajganj last night.

The deceased Md Akbar Ali (40) of Sarotia village of the upazila, was the convener of Saydabad union unit Jubo Dal, reports our Pabna correspondent quoting Hasibul Alom, superintendent of Police of Sirajganj.

"Police recovered the body but the reason behind the killing could not be known immediately," said the SP.

Akbar was at a tea stall at Randhunibari Bazar at about 8:00pm when a group of miscreants shot in his head--leaving him dead on the spot, added SP said.

"The body was sent to Sirajganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy. We are investigating the matter and trying to arrest the culprits," the SP also said.
