Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal’s youth leader killed in Kushtia

A Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal's Jubo Jot leader was killed by miscreants in Kushtia's Daulatpur upazila last night. Two of his associates were also injured.

The deceased was identified as Mahbub Khan Salam, general secretary of Daulatpur unit of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal's Jubo Jot. The injured are Mamun Joarder and Harun, reports our Kushtia correspondent quoting Jabid Hasan, officer-in-charge of Daulatpur Police Station.

Jabid Hasan said that police visited the spot and are investigating the incident.

Police are trying to identify the attackers, the OC said.

Around 11pm last night, a group of 15 to 20 miscreants attacked three of them with sharp weapons near Salam's house, Mamun said.

"Locals rushed them to Daulatpur Upazila Health Complex. Salam died there at 1:20pm," said the OC, adding that Mamun was later shifted to Kushtia General Hospital for better treatment.
