Doctor’s body found from Dhaka’s Nikunja flat

Police recovered the body of a doctor from a flat in Dhaka's Nikunja area last night.

The deceased, Joydeb Kumar Das, was a former student of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College.

His neighbours informed police after smelling bad odour coming out from the flat at Nikunja-2.

Police rushed there, broke open the door and recovered the body lying on the bed, said Rasel Parvez, a sub-inspector of Khilkhet Police Station.

A week ago, Joydeb started sharing his room with another doctor who went to village home to celebrate Durga Puja. A syringe was found beside his body, he said.

The SI suspected that Joydeb killed himself. The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
