Three cases have been filed against 36 people in connection with yesterday's crude bomb attack on workers of Benapole Land Port in Jashore's Sharsha upazila, which left 20 people injured.

The cases were filed with Beanpole Port Police Station against 36 people, including Rasheduzzaman Rashed, a councillor of Benapole municipality, this morning, said Kamal Hossain Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge of the police station.

Meanwhile, four bombs, one pistol, five rounds of bullets and one magazine have been recovered from Rashed's private car, the OC told our Benapole correspondent.

According to police, Rashed led the attack. Eight of the attackers have already been arrested.

Besides, additional policemen were deployed in the port area to avoid further trouble, added the police official.

Abdul Jalil, deputy director at Benapole port, said import-export operations at the port resumed this morning after port workers joined work following the police's assurance of taking legal action against the attackers.

At least 20 people were injured as miscreants hurled crude bombs on the workers of Benapole Land Port in Jashore's Sharsha upazila, triggering a clash over the responsibility of the port's cargo handling work yesterday.
