Apprentice lawyer stabbed to death in Bogura

An apprentice lawyer, who was stabbed on November 1 over property-related disputes, died in a hospital in Bogura Sadar upazila yesterday.

Abdul Bari Chan, 40, a trainee lawyer at the Bogura judge court, was attacked with sharp weapons near his home in the upazila's Chak Farid area, allegedly by locals who had a long-standing dispute with him over property.

Locals and his relatives rushed him to the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College.

Later, his wife Runa Mahmud filed a case with the Bogura Sadar Police Station against five named and five to seven unnamed people, said Babu Kumar Saha, inspector (investigation) of the station.

"We have already identified the attackers and are going to make arrests soon," said Noor-e-Alam Siddiqui, officer-in-charge of the station.
