AL leader dies after stabbing in Bogura

A local Awami League leader was stabbed to death at Fapor union under Bogura Sadar upazila last night.

The AL leader was identified as Mominur Islam Roki (32), general secretary of Fapor union Awami League, reports our Bogura correspondent quoting Faisal Mahmud, additional superintendent (ASP) of police of Bogura Sadar Circle.  

The ASP said a group consisting of 20 to 30 people attacked AL leader Mominur with sharp weapons at Hatkhola area at 9:00pm and fled the scene, leaving him critically injured.

Locals rescued the injured leader and took him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Police got the identities of the attackers, the police officer said, adding that drives are on to nab the criminals.

No case was filed in this connection till filling of this report.
