The Anti-Terrorism Unit of police yesterday arrested two active members of the banned militant group Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) from Muktagacha in Mymensingh.

The arrestees are Md Kawsar Ahmed Milon (30) and Zahid Mostafa (20), a press release issued by police said today.

"Kawsar has been involved in collecting and selling books promoting the ideology of ABT from different parts of Dhaka for nine years, while Zahid had been assisting him for two years," said Aslam Khan, superintendent of police (media and awareness) of ATU.

"The two accused were selling books of extremist ideology to ABT members across the country using multiple fake Facebook IDs behind a bookstore in Chechua Bazaar," he said.

Two mobile phones, four SIM cards, seven soft copies of books promoting extremism and printed hard copies were seized from them at the time.

A case against them is underway at Muktagacha Police Station.
