2 killed in clash over land dispute in Dinajpur

Two people were killed and six others injured in a clash over a land dispute in Dinajpur's Ghoraghat upazila this morning.

The deceased are Monwar Hossain Mim, 24, and Rakib Hossain, 25, of Khodatpur village in the upazila, reports our Dinajpur correspondent.

Abu Raihan Kabir, officer-in-charge of Ghoraghat Police Station, said one Omar Ali had a conflict with Monwar and Rakib over 28 decimals of lands at Khodatpur village.

Omar and his hired goons went to occupy the disputed land in the morning and then a clash took place with Rakib and Monwar and their people.

They attacked each other with sharp weapons, leaving eight people injured.

Monwar and Rakib died on way to Ghoraghat Upazila Health Complex.

The injured were sent to Bogura and Dinajpur hospitals for treatment, said the OC.
