2 cops closed over allegation of harassing visitors at Bogura park

Two police personnel of Bogura Sadar Police Station alleged to have harassed visitors at a private park in the district and demanding toll from them have been closed.

Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Abdullah Al-Mostafa and constable Mahidul of the police station were closed and attached to the district's police line, said Foysal Mahmud, additional superintendent (sadar circle) of Bogura police.

"During our primary investigation we learned that the two police personnel went to the Momo Inn Eco Park without any legal permission," said the additional SP.

Ali Haider, additional superintendent (admin) of police told our Bogura correspondent that although no one has given a written allegation in this regard, they have been informed that the two policemen harassed park visitors and asked money from three youths.

"If we find them guilty through investigation, we will take further [departmental] action against them," added Haider.

"A probe body will be formed soon," he said.

Contacted, ASI Abdullah Al Mostafa denied the allegation and said they went there to recover drugs.
