2 arrested over rape

A schoolgirl was raped allegedly by two men in Lalmonirhat's Kaliganj upazila on Tuesday.

The victim, student of grade-VII, was picked up around 8:30pm on Monday and raped overnight in an abandoned room.

Her family members filed a case with Kaliganj Police Station on Tuesday afternoon.

Police arrested -- Ripon Mia, 27, and Monir Uddin, 19 -- on the same day, said Golam Rasul, officer-in-charge of the police station.

The criminals abandoned the girl on the bank of the local Sati river around 6:00am on Tuesday and fled the scene.
