2 arrested with elephant tusk in Ctg

Rapid Action Battalion arrested two persons along with an elephant tusk, weighting around 3.5 kg, from Chattogram city's Chandgaon area last night (June 22). 

Acting on a tip off, members of Rab-7 arrested Md Jahangir Alam (45) and Md Shahidul Alam (40) along with the tusk from a flat in Tekbazar Rail Crossing area, said Rab-7 Senior Assistant Director of Media Nurul Absar.

They were handed over to Changaon police and a case was lodged in this connection, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent quoting the Rab official.

The elite force members claimed the duo are the active members of a gang involved in tusk smuggling.
