17 more arrested over attacks on puja mandaps in Chandpur’s Hajiganj

Police have arrested 17 more people in 10 cases filed over the attacks on puja mandaps in Hajiganj upazila of Chandpur on October 13.

They were arrested between Sunday night and this morning after being identified from CCTV footages, said Milon Mahmud, superintendent of police in Chandpur.

So far 54 people have been arrested in the cases filed in connection with attacks on 13 puja mandaps in the upazila, accusing nearly 5,000 people, the SP added.
