One dead, two hurt in two accidents on Dhaka-Mawa highway in 15 minutes

A man was killed and two others were injured in two separate road accidents that occurred in the span of 15 at the same place on the Dhaka-Mawa highway early today.

An unidentified man was killed in a collision between a truck and a fish-laden pick-up at Hasara in Munshiganj's Sreenagar upazila, our Munshiganj correspondent reports quoting sources at the local fire service.

About 15 minutes after the accident, two people were injured when a vehicle hit a Dhaka-bound pickup at the same place.

The injured are Iman, 28, of Khulna and Subrata, 23, of Bagerhat.

Mahfuz Riben, a warehouse inspector of Sreenagar Fire Service, said, "A passenger of the pickup was killed in the first accident. But his identity has not been ascertained."

His body has been sent to Hasara Highway Police Outpost.

Injured Iman and Subrata have been admitted to Sreenagar Upazila Health Complex.
