Family members of Mehedi Hasan Swapan are enduring a horrid wait at the site of the devastating blast in the capital's Gulistan.

Swapan, a manager of a shop in the basement of the building, has been missing since the explosion on Tuesday, which has so far claimed 20 lives.

Anwarul Haque, vice-principal of the Fire Service Training Complex, told The Daily Star, "Mehedi Hasan Swapan's relatives claim that his body can be found under this building. We've started a rescue operation."

The rescue operations resumed for the third day at the basement of the building around 8:45am today.

"We actually started the work at 8:00am. Since there was a lot of water under the building, we had to pump out the water before we could start the rescue operations," he said.

Swapan's cousin Ittehad Lincoln told the Daily Star, "I have searched all the hospitals and morgues in Dhaka but could not find Swapan anywhere. We're sure he'll be found here. Because he was in the building at the time of the incident."

Swapan is the manager of Bangladesh Sanitary, located in the basement of the building.

There are two others still missing, but their family members are not at the scene yet.
