A fire that broke out in the MR Rotor Spinning Mill Factory of Samin Textile Group in Gazipur's Sadar upazila has been brought under control after 13 hours.

Five firefighting units brought the blaze -- that broke out at Monday midnight -- under control at 1:00pm today, reports our local correspondent quoting Abdullah-Al Arefin, deputy assistant director of Joydebpur Fire Service.

He said no casualties were reported so far. However, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Hafiz Ahmed, executive director of Samin Textile Group, said the fire broke out at the cotton warehouse of the factory. After hearing the news, two units of the Joydebpur Fire Service and three units of the Mauna Fire Service of Sreepur arrived at the scene and started working to control the fire.

The fire caused a significant number of unprocessed garlands (cotton) to burn.
