Fire at Ctg Amin Jute Mills’ colony brought under control after an hour

A fire that broke out at a tin-shed colony of Amin Jute Mills in Chattogram city's Muradpur area this morning was brought under control after one hour.

The fire originated at a house around 6:15am and later spread to adjacent houses, said Abdul Malek, deputy assistant director (DAD) of Chattogram Agrabad Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.

Six firefighting units from Agrabad and Bayezid rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after an hour, he added.

The firefighters were working to completely douse the fire when the report was filed at 9:15am, reports our Chattogram correspondent.

The cause of the fire could not be known immediately. No causality was reported.
