Fire breaks out at factory in Mongla EPZ

Fire broke out at a factory of Mongla Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Bagerhat this afternoon.

The fire originated at VIP-1 factory in the area, our Bagerhat correspondent reports.

Several units of Bagerhat and Mongla Fire Service have been trying to douse the blaze.

All the workers inside the factory were able to come out, according to the workers.

Deputy Assistant Director of Bagerhat Fire Service and Civil Defense Md Golam Sarwar confirmed the incident. "We are trying to put out the blaze," he said.

The fire could not be brought under control till filing this report around 5:45pm.
