Fire at BM Depot: CU students donate blood to burn victims

Students of Chittagong University today rushed to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) to donate blood to those injured in the fire at BM Container Depot in Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram.

Two buses carrying the students reached CMCH early this morning.

Earlier CMCH authorities sent out a call for help, requesting blood donations for the injured.

The death toll in the fire and subsequent explosions at BM Container Depot in Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram has increased to 16 while hundreds of people, including police and fire service personnel sustained burn injuries in the incident.

The fire broke out at BM Container Limited in Shitalpur area around 10pm last night (June 4), said a duty officer of Chittagong Fire Service and Civil Defence control room at Agrabad.
