Car hits woman on DU campus, drags her few hundred yards

A private car hit a woman and dragged her several hundred yards on Dhaka University campus this afternoon, leaving her critically injured.

As the driver tried to escape, students and pedestrians intercepted the car and caught the driver, according to witnesses.

The critically injured woman was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

A video clip obtained by The Daily Star shows that people were shouting at the driver to stop the car which kept dragging the woman towards Nilkhet.

The accident took place near the TSC around 3:00pm.

Masud Mia, an assistant sub-inspector of DMCH Police Outpost, said the woman was in a critical condition.
