Bus driver's son killed being hit by bus in Jatrabari

A 15-year-old boy was killed after being hit by a bus in Dhaka's Jatrabari area this morning.

The deceased was identified as Miraj Hossain, a garage mechanic and son of bus driver Akram Hossain. He used to live in Sayedabad area, said his uncle Younus Ali Khan.

He was going to Golapbagh to meet his father. The accident took place around 10:30am as a bus of Tisha Plus Paribahan hit the boy when he was crossing the road near a ramp of Mayor Hanif Flyover.

Critically injured, Miraj was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where duty doctors declared him dead around 11:50am, said Tanvir Hossain, sub-inspector of Jatrabari Police Station.

Police seized the bus and detained its driver after the accident.
