467 lives lost to road crashes last month

At least 467 people were killed and 761 injured in 447 road crashes last month, according to Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity.

Motorcycles were involved in 154 crashes, leaving 159 dead and 82 injured last month, the organisation said today.

During this time, 39 people were killed and seven wounded in rail-related accidents.

Moreover, 16 people were killed, 27 hurt and 15 went missing in 14 riverine accidents, it added.

The organisation presented the data based on media reports.
