3 killed as truck runs over motorbike in Mymensingh

Three people on a motorcycle were killed when a truck ran them over in Mymensingh's China intersection area this evening.

The victims were identified as Babu (25), son of Fazlul Haque, Yeasin (18), son of Sohrab Uddin and Ripon Mia (30), son of Islam Mia, of Kalirbazar Senbari area in Trishal upazila of Mymensingh, reports our Mymensingh correspondent quoting Shah Kamal Akanda, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.

The accident took place when a truck ran over a motorbike in which three had been travelling, killing Babu and Yeasin on the spot and critically injuring Ripon around 5:30pm, the OC said.

Ripon was taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) where he succumbed to his injuries, said the OC.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to MMCH morgue for autopsy.

Police seized the truck but its driver managed to flee the scene, he said, adding that a case was lodged with the police facility in this connection.
