3 killed in Cumilla road accident

Three people were killed as a bus hit them on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Chandina upazila of Cumilla this morning.

The deceased were identified as Alamgir Hossain, Abul Kalam and Baharam.

Md Mamun, in-charge of Illiotganj Highway Police Outpost, said that the bus first hit a motorbike and then two pedestrians at Harikhola in the upazila around 10:00am, leaving motorcyclist Alamgir dead on the spot.

The injured were rushed to Chandina Upazila Health Complex where they succumbed to their injuries.

However, the driver of the bus fled the scene.

The process is underway to file a case in this regard, said police.
