3 killed, 2 injured in Feni road accident

Three people, including a couple, were killed and two others injured in a road accident in Sadar upazila of Feni early today.

The deceased were identified as Md Shimul, 30, his wife Yeasmin, 20, and Abu Sayeed, 29, our local correspondent reports quoting Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Fazilpur Highway Police Station Rashed Khan Chowdhury.

According to the fire service and highway police sources, a couple from Chattogram was going to Cumilla in a pick-up truck.

When they reached Kazir dighi area on Dhaka-Chattogram highway around 5:30am, their pick-up truck hit a freight lorry parked on the side of the road from behind.

The accident left the couple and truck driver Abu Sayeed dead on the spot, the OC said.

The bodies have been kept at Feni Sadar General Hospital morgue, the OC said, adding that the injured were undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
