2 cops killed after private car plunges into ditch in Narayanganj

Two police officials were killed and another injured after a private car carrying them plunged into a ditch at Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj this evening.

The deceased were identified as sub-inspectors Shariful Islam and Kazi Saleh and the injured is ASI Rafiqul Islam, of Sonargaon Police Station, confirmed Mostafizur Rahman, additional superintendent of police in Narayanganj, reports our local correspondent.  

"The three police officials along with an accused were going to Sonargaon Police Station on the private car, said the additional SP.

"The private car fell into the ditch in the Dattapara area around 6:30 pm after its driver lost control over the steering while giving side to another vehicle, leaving SI Shariful and SI Saleh dead on the spot while injuring ASI Rafiqul," he added.

The injured was taken to Sonargaon Upazila Health Complex, said the police official.
