1-year-old burnt to death in Ctg fire

A one-year-old girl was burnt to death after a fire broke out at a tin-shed house in Mirsharai upazila of Chattogram this afternoon (August 5, 2022).

The victim Lamia Akter was the daughter of Mohammed Rajib of the Zamadar area in the upazila, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent quoting Imam Hossain, station officer of Mirsharai Fire Service and Civil Defense.

An electric short-circuit caused the fire around 1 pm when the child was asleep in the house, said Imam.

On information, firefighters rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after one hour, he said.

Later, they recovered the charred body of the child from the house, added the official.
