'Bangladesh to share itsdevelopment experience'

Bangladesh is prepared to share its experience with other developing countries as it is transforming its society with homegrown ideas. Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations, Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury, said this while addressing the first session of the Group of 77 on Tuesday.

"Our innovative ideas such as microcredit and non-formal education have proved to be effective tools of positive change," he stated.

These have created a new development paradigm in Bangladesh, which has won considerable international praise, the ambassador said.

He said the UN conferences of the past decade set the programmes of action and this is now the time to implement them.

He hoped that the developed partners would respond by cooperating with G-77 to achieve what is the "common goal of mankind."
