Rahul Gandhi calls on PM Hasina

Former Congress party president Rahul Gandhi today (September 6, 2022) met Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her hotel suite at ITC Maurya in New Delhi.

Rahul later said he had "a fruitful discussion on a number of issues" but did not specify any issue, reports our New Delhi correspondent.

Hasina has traditionally had strong relations with the Gandhi dynasty.

The Bangladeshi prime minister arrived here yesterday on a four-day visit and held talks with her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

In October, 2017, Rahul's mother Sonia Gandhi and sister Priyanka had met Hasina when she had paid an official visit to India.

Sonia lost her mother recently in Italy and Hasina had sent a condolence message to the Congress' interim President.
