Gautam Adani tweets after meeting PM Hasina
Indian business tycoon Gautam Adani called on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in New Delhi today (September 5, 2022).
After the meeting, Adani tweeted, "It is an honour to have met Hon PM of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina in Delhi. Her vision for Bangladesh is inspirational and stunningly bold."
"We are committed to commissioning our 1600 MW Godda Power Project and dedicated transmission line to Bangladesh by Bijoy Dibosh, Dec 16, 2022," his tweet also read.
Adani Power's Godda project will supply power generated to Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) through a dedicated transmission line passing through West Bengal, reports our New Delhi correspondent.
Adani is currently the world's third-richest person on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index and this is the first time an Asian has ranked in the top three, according to AFP.
The self-made billionaire has seen his net worth more than double to $137.4 billion in the last year, rising 20 spots on the index to now rank just behind Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, Bloomberg News reported.
