In remembrance of Abdul Alim

Today marks the 44th death anniversary of the noted folk maestro, Abdul Alim. He recorded over 300 Gramophone records and sang playback in over 100 films. One of his most notable work is playback for the famous film, Mukh O Mukhosh.

He won the National Award 1974 posthumously for playback in Shujan Shokhi directed by Khan Ataur Rahman. Among his noted songs are Holudia Pakhi Shonar Boron, Ujaan Gang-er Naiyy,  Ei Je Duniya Kishero Lagia and  many more that will always remain significant in the lives of the people of Bangladesh. 

Moreover, the Abul Alim Foundation has published  book  titled Bangla Lokosangeeter Amor Kanthoshilpi Abdul Alim on him. The book was written by Dr Abdul Wahab. Alim took folk music as a whole to greater heights during his illustrious career.
