6 new provosts of JU halls appointed

ahangirnagar University authorities have appointed six new provosts of student halls and six others to head various administrative offices.

The appointments were decided at a meeting of JU Syndicate, the highest policy-making body of the university on Wednesday. Vice Chancellor Prof Alauddin Ahmed chaired the meeting held at the administrative building.

The new provosts are: Prof M Nasiruddin in History Department - Shaheed Salam Barkat Hall, Dr Farhad Hossain of Statistics - Moulana Bhashani Hall, Prof Manjurul Karim of Chemistry - A F M Kamaluddin Hall, Prof Sabiha Sultana of Geography - Jahanara Imam Hall, Dr Rawshan Zahan of Statistics - Nawab Faizunnesa Hall and Dr Tahmina Ferdous of Physics - Fazilatunnesa Hall.

Besides, Prof Mirza Mofizuddin of Geography has been appointed director of Examination Office, Prof Amir Hossain Khan of Physics, director of "Centre for Students Welfare and Councelling, Prof Abu Taher Mojumdar of English, director of Centre for Language and Education, Prof Enamul Haq Khan of History, teacher-in-charge of Central Library, and Prof Mahmuda Ghani Ahmed of Chemistry, teacher-in-charge of Science Laboratory.

Prof Selim Al Din of Drama and Dramatics has been reappointed director of 'Teachers and Students' Centre.
