2 killed in city road crash

Two persons were killed after a speeding bus ran them over at Uttara in the capital on Friday.

A Gazipur-bound bus hit the victims at Jasimuddin Road intersection when the duo was crossing the road around 9:00am, Suman Chandra Das, sub-inspector of Uttara Police Station (west), told The Daily Star.

They died on the spot, the police official said.

Identity of the duo -- aged between 30 to 35 years -- could not be known immediately, he added.

Police arrested the driver and seized the bus of Balaka Paribahan.
