10 hurt in Comilla Shibir-BCL clash

At least 10 people were injured when the activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir and Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) clashed in Laksam upazila in Comilla on Saturday.
Police said the two student bodies backed by Jamaat-e-Islami and ruling Awami League respectively locked into the clash over establishing supremacy on the admission process of Class-XI at Laksam Nawab Faizunnesa Degree College.
Both the groups attacked each other with sticks and brick chips, leaving 10 people injured, said Abul Khair, officer-in-charge of Laksam Police Station.
The injured were sent to Laksam Upazila Health Complex, reports our Comilla correspondent.
The Shibir activists gathered on the college campus around 2:30pm after one of their activists was beaten allegedly by the BCL men earlier in the day.
During the two-hour clash, seven shops, a diagnostic centre and an ATM booth of Islami Bank were vandalised, the OC said.
